The San Francisco Principles 2020/TSFP2020 were co-drafted by delegates to the World AIDS Conference in 2020, including two Residents at Marty’s Place: Paul Aguilar, and Michael Rouppet. Marty’s Place adopted TSFP 2020 as part of our organizational key values because stable housing and our voices missing in those discussions continues to be an HIV/AIDS policy issue.
Much like the demands from the Denver Principles for people living with HIV to be involved in the decision-making affecting our lives and to protect us from being thrown out of our housing, TSFP2020 underscores the previous calls to action with “Nothing About Us Without Us” embedded in it. People living with HIV/AIDS must continue to be involved in the decision-making when it comes to our housing and Marty’s Place is deeply committed as the only self-governing housing cooperative for people living with HIV/AIDS in the United States, if not the world.
